Getting Married in the midst of Covid-19
Love does not have to wait, love is not cancelled. Anna and Austin had the most intimate ceremony with the Father of the Bride, a pastor, marrying them in Anna’s boss’s backyard; and followed by dinner and dancing in her parents backyard. The emotion of how sweet and intimate this day was will be carried in their hearts forever!
Anna & Austin met at CBU, but didn’t really connect with each other until last July. By then he had moved back to his hometown of Albuquerque NM. They began to talk almost daily and soon he invited her to fly out there for the New Mexico hot air balloon festival, and meet his family. Of course, she went and loved it, and loved his family and the rest is history! After three months of commuting back and forth, Austin asked Annas parents for their blessing and they were soon engaged! They started planning the wedding of their dreams for June 19th.
The last weekend in March, when the state received Shelter in Place orders due to Covid-19, it all fell apart.....the venue and all the vendors cancelled.
They were devastated!! So their planner, Denise, encouraged them to push the event to later in the fall when this pandemic should be past. They chose the new date of November 21. However, because of all the uncertainty and the travel restrictions between states, they really wanted to get married sooner. So they landed on May 2, and rented a beautiful little AirBnB out in Joshua Tree, planning just to have a ceremony overlooking the National park. Unfortunately, they had to cancel mid April because the county of San Bernardino forced all the short term rental places to close. Being discouraged once again, a doctor that Anna worked for heard about her plight and offered his property up in DeLuz for a small intimate ceremony.
It was quite a rollercoaster ride, but praise the Lord (literally) it happened Saturday, May 2!! It wasn’t how they had imagined or planned, but it was so full of love and pure joy! Anna and Austin still plan to celebrate with friends and family in person, but for now they are over the moon to be husband and wife!! We were so honored to be a part of this special day!
