Alyssa + Mark // Lake Oak Meadows
If you don’t believe in fairytales, you have obviously never met Mark and Alyssa! We had the pleasure of getting to know this sweet couple, and are so excited to share their storybook love with you!
Just like any other fairytale, this love story starts in “a land far far away”. When these two were only fifteen, Alyssa took a trip to visit family in Scotland. Little did she know that on that trip she would meet her soulmate! A few years later Alyssa took the adventure of a lifetime, moving from the states all the way to Scotland, where she would start her life with Mark.
After a few years, Mark and Alyssa decided to move together back to California. It was on a trip to visit Scotland that Mark would ask Alyssa the easiest question she has ever had to answer. After a three hour drive through the highlands, with the most spectacular views, Mark popped the question! What made it even more special, is he chose a time that all of their family was visiting as well and they could celebrate with them.
Engagement is one of the most magical seasons in ones life! We asked Alyssa what her favorite part of wedding planning was and here is what she had to say, “Spending time together! We have a “whoever cares more” rule which we use for a lot of things but this came in handy while wedding planning as well! If something meant a lot to Mark I was happy to say yes and he was the same!” Don’t you just love that?
The advice Alyssa would give to other brides is this, “Really try to soak in every moment of planning, getting ready and especially the day. Intentionally try to remember the feeling you have on your big day because there’s nothing like it! My husband and I also made a huge effort to be together all night. It can be so easy so get caught up in a conversation with a guest and love your new hubby! We didn’t want to end up like we did at the end of our engagement party which was “how was your night!?” “Good! How was yours? I feel like I didn’t even see you!’”
